Keisari Baltic Offshore Week. Hanko 26th to 31st July 2009

ImageIn 2008, the Estonian and Finnish offshore sailing championship events were combined into the Baltic Offshore Week. The first edition of the new regatta was arranged by Kalev Jahtklubi in Pirita, the sailing center of Tallinn.

As originally planned the 2009 Baltic Offshore Week will take place in Finland and the town of Hanko has been selected as the venue for the event.  Nokian Panimo, producers of the Keisari beer have agreed to sponsor the event that is thus called Keisari Baltic Offshore Week.

The regatta will be sailed under the ORCi rating system.  All classes qualify for the Estonian championship title. Finnish championship medals are awarded to the winners in classes 1 and 2  while class 3 counts as a class championship in Finland.

The organizing club for Keisari Baltic Offshore Week is Hangö Segelförening in cooperation with The Finnish Offshore Racing Association.  The event takes place  from 26th to 31st July 2009.

Yhdistetyt Suomen ja Viron avoimet ORCi-mestaruuskisat (Keisari Baltic Offshore Week) järjestetään 6.-30. (31.7.) 7.2009 Hangossa . Regattaan odotetaan osanottajia myös muista naapurimaistamme.

The combined open Finnish and Estonian ORCi Championship (Keisari Baltic Offshore Week) will be arranged in Hanko , Finland, on 26.-30. (31.7.) 7.2009. Participants from other neighbouring countries are also welcome.

Kilpailun alustava aikataulu on seuraava:

  • 26.7. Rekisteröinti (illalla)
  • 27.7. Rekisteröinti, kipparikokous, pitkän avomerikisan lähtö (illalla)
  • 28.7. Maaliintulopäivä
  • 29.7. Ratakisoja, lyhyt avomerikisa, Crew Party
  • 30.7. Ratakisoja, palkintojenjakotilaisuus
  • 31.7. Varapäivä, kotiinpaluupäivä

Veneiden toivotaan siis saapuvan Hankoon viimeistään 27.7. aamupäivällä rekisteröintiä ja mittauksia varten.

Aikataulu on valittu siten, että veneet ehtivät mukaan ORCi EM-kisaan, joka purjehditaan Ystadissa Etelä-Ruotsissa 5.-8.8.2009. Myös X-veneiden osallistumista X-Yachts Finland Cup-tapahtumaan Hangossa 6.-9.8.2009 on huomioitu.
AMP:n sivuille avataan lähiaikoina BOW-tietoruutu, josta on saatavissa tarkempaa tietoa kisasta.

 

The regatta schedule is following (preliminary):

  • 26.7. Registering
  • 27.7. Registering, skipper’s meeting, start for long Offshore Race (evening)
  • 28.7. Finishing day for long Offshore Race
  • 29.7. W/L-races and short Offshore Race, Crew party
  • 30.7. W/L-races, prize giving ceremony
  • 31.7. Reserve day, returning home

Boats should arrive in Hanko no later than Monday 27.7. a.m.

The schedule has been selected so, that boats will have time to participate also in the ORCi European Championship, on 5.-8.8.2009 in Ystad, Sweden. For X-boats there is also X-yachts Finland Cup in Hanko 6.-9.8.2009, in which boats may want to participate.
